The Role 💡

We’re looking for a talented Director Business Intelligence to join us, directly reporting to our COO and become part of the Commercial Management Team (CMT). 


Within Recharge key goals for your BI teams are:

  • Make BI the ‘driving force’ behind our commercial decisions and processes, taking ownership in improving core KPIs, like LTV/CAC (Lifetime Value / Customer Acquisition Cost), Payment Conversion;

  • Ensuring efficient data-driven decision making across all the teams in the organisation, ranging from commercial teams to product & engineering teams or collaborating with our Finance department.

What will I do? 🤔

  • Manage, develop and expand the current team of 4 Business Analysts

  • You are key in defining our strategic priorities, ensuring we stick to them and deliver tangible impact. You achieve this by:
    • Actively taking part in our Commercial Management Team

    • Providing proactive insights, where we provide actions and solutions instead of descriptions and explanations.

    • Maintain collaborative partnership with your stakeholders, to ensure that our recommendations don’t end there but are actually implemented and result in tangible outcomes.

  • Professionalise our way of working by:
    • Realising and continuously improving the data-driven mentality of all teams across our organisation

    • Providing and improving our self-service analytics environment (Tableau)

    • Improving data availability and quality with our engineering and data platform teams


What You Have 💪🏻

  • The ideal candidate has at least 3+ years of management experience in a highly analytical commercial role in the digital/e-commerce industry

  • Very strong analytical, quantitative and critical thinking skills - identifying connections and trends in data and distilling them into insights and viable strategies for the business

  • A track record across multiple business domains (Perf. Mkt./CRM/Product Analytics/….) that is able to quickly onboard new business contexts

  • Ability and preference to take ownership, entrepreneurial, proactive with positive attitude, a self-starter who can manage multiple initiatives/priorities at once

  • Strong ability to prioritise, there are endless opportunities but you have to define which are the 3 to 4 that really make the difference and how to get these done.

  • Innovative, creative and a strong commercial sense

  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and analytical reasoning

  • Team player with strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills

  • Excellent communication skills and presentation skills (both verbal and written); the ability to convey complex ideas and analysis clearly and with conviction to all levels of stakeholders

  • A MSc in a highly analytical field, such as Data Science/ Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics/ Statistics or Econometrics
  • Experience using and administering self-service business intelligence tools like Tableau and PowerBI

  • Experience with a pragmatic approach to data science topics such as linear regression, clustering, anomaly detection

4. Assignment & Second interview: This role involves a case study. Great! It’s your chance to shine and show us you have what it takes. You’ll present your case study to the Hiring Manager and someone from the Commercial Management team.

5. Third Interview: You’ll meet with a key member of the management team
