We’re looking for a talented Engineering Manager - Payments to join our Tech Department and lead two of our product engineering teams building our Payments, Fraud & Risk and Delivery services, reporting to Director of Engineering David Williams.
In the past three years, we have managed to scale up rapidly with our products Rapido.com and Recharge.com which has led to tremendous (often - triple-digit) growth of sales volumes. This faster than light growth rate will continue in the foreseeable future, and that’s why we are in the progress of re-defining our application landscape to make sure that we can cope with this growth in the future. That’s where you come in.
You will be part of a growing team of people that are responsible for laying the groundwork to scale Recharge.com. While we are already operating in over 130 countries we are anticipating immense growth in the next couple of months and years to come.
We are responsible for the reliability, performance, security and availability of our cloud platform.
What will I do?
As an Engineering Manager - Payments, you'll thrive on managing, leading and coaching a high performing team of engineers, supporting their professional (and personal) development, performance and training. You will ensure that the team is high-performing and consistently delivers high-quality and valuable work in line with the roadmap and strategy.
You are a people person who loves working and partnering with other Engineering Managers and Product Owners to prioritize initiatives and help shape the work of your team by managing and minimizing dependencies, and maintaining a fun, rewarding and results-driven culture, embracing our values. You run and contribute to initiatives to improve the engagement and wellbeing of the team that you lead.
You will also recruit and retain great individuals, building on the diversity and our culture.
Your new team
Your new team will consist of hungry young professionals that are ready to make an impact on the business including 6 Software Engineers and 1 QA Engineer.
What you have:
Previous experience of leading and developing a team of engineers
An agile/lean and data-driven mindset. You’ll have worked in a customer focused and product oriented team.
Ability to manage conflict in an open and positive way
Excellent facilitation skills. Can lead workshops with a broad range of stakeholders.
Great interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
Understanding of quality software engineering practices.
