Platform Team Lead

The role

We’re on a hunt for an experienced Platform Team Lead with knowledge of public cloud platforms to help build, influence and lead our underlying platform and infrastructure to scale and meet customer needs over the coming years.

You’ll join a growing team of people that are responsible for laying the groundwork to scale, one of the fastest-growing fintech scaleups in the Netherlands. We operate in over 130 countries and we’re on the cusp of immense growth in the next months (and years!) to come following yet another round of investment. As part of our Customer Care team, you’ll together be responsible for the reliability, performance, security and availability of our cloud platform.

Job requirements

What you have

  • Previous experience in leading and developing a team of engineers

  • An agile/lean and data-driven mindset. You’ll have worked in a customer focussed and product-oriented team

  • Ability to manage conflict in an open and positive way

  • Excellent facilitation skills. Can lead workshops with a broad range of stakeholders.

  • Great interpersonal, communication and influencing skills

  • Experience and understanding of public cloud solutions. You’ll have helped design and build scalable solutions using AWS, GCP, Azure or similar

  • Managing 3rd party vendors. You’ll also have been involved in the decision to build or buy

What you will do

  • Manage, lead and coach a high performing team of engineers, supporting their professional (and personal) development, performance and training

  • Recruit and retain great talent, building on our diversity and culture

  • Ensure that the team is high-performing and consistently delivers high-quality and valuable work in line with the roadmap and strategy

  • Run and contribute to initiatives to improve the engagement and wellbeing of the team that you lead

  • Define and evolve processes and practices that allow the team to get great work done

  • Focus and engage with our internal customers - working with our development teams to identify improvements to our platform

  • Partner with other Team Leads and Product Owners to prioritise initiatives and help shape the work of your team. Manage and minimise dependencies.
