The Role

We’re looking for an ambitious and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join our growing team in Amsterdam. You will work on providing the infrastructure and tools that our engineering teams require to move very fast in our dynamic environment.

The engineering team consists of around 35+ engineers, mostly based in Amsterdam, but we also have an office based in Lisbon. Senior Engineers work with their peers within the team and other engineering groups to discover, prioritise and resolve technical challenges and drive technical projects across Engineering teams.

Job requirements

What will I do?

  • Own the infrastructure of our all our platforms and labels

  • Be proactive and constantly look for opportunities to raise the bar on quality across teams

  • Amplify your team members' efforts through structural coaching and mentoring

  • Be accountable for delivering the team's goals

  • Provide scalable and modular solutions that prepares us for the future

  • Act as a strong discussion partner for problems, with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Have a flexible mindset where you are always ready to take on the next challenge

  • Understand the tradeoffs between make vs. buy decisions, and work together with the engineering manager to sell ideas to the engineering community

What You Have

  • 3+ years of recent experience in AWS

  • 6+ years of experience as a cloud engineer or DevOps engineer

  • Experience with automation/configuration with CI/CD pipelines and the cloud-based tools that support them

  • Experience with Kubernetes

  • Experience with performance monitoring, log aggregation and analytics

  • Experience with automation tools like Terraform and CloudFormation

  • Knowledge of CDK and knowledge of Typescript

  • Experience with CDN services like AWS Cloudfront or CloudFlare

  • Experience with building and maintaining database systems of high availability with database types like MySQL or PostgreSQL

  • Experience with monitoring and alerting systems such as Datadog, Sentry.io or Grafana
