The Roleđź’ˇ

We're looking for a Lead QA Engineer who will be joining the Product & Tech department of Recharge.com is a once-in-a-career opportunity to make a long term and strong impact on technology, product and business, as we are on the eve of a transformation that is taking Recharge.com to be the world’s leading name for branded payments!


In this role, you’ll be working with cross-functional partners to discover novel solutions to business problems You’re. able to get buy-in when needed and explain benefits and constraints of various solutions clearly to a wide range of audiences.


Your stakeholders are Lead Software Engineers, the QA engineering and Software Engineering community, Engineering Manager and occasionally Engineering and Product Director.

This is a role for an informal leader, mentoring and guiding your my peers, aimed at driving business impact through an integrated testing approach as a team.

Job requirements

What will I do?🤔

  • Creating and driving a community of QA engineers to drive business impact and professional growth

  • Embedding automation testing in the development process

  • Supporting the CI/CD efforts, proposes test automation tooling and infrastructure and work with developers to build and maintain it

  • Actively contributing to the tech strategy by providing valuable insights on test automation and software quality in general

  • Staying up to date with new test automation technology and plan strategically for possible changes

  • Acting as a strong discussion partner on test automation topic for product, design and tech partners

  • Working with development teams to understand the business needs and identify the quality requirements

  • Seeing outages as a critical learning opportunity to improve

  • Inspiring Engineers, Designers and Product Owners to be quality conscious by providing extensive trainings and workshops about testing culture and best practices

  • Planning and prioritising the different strategies according to business needs

  • Evaluating our internal testing tools and introduce new ones in order to improve return on investment

  • Driving continuous improvements to the way testing is integrated and executed in the agile delivery process


What You Have💪🏻

  • At least 5-8 years of experience in Test Engineering in a large-scale tech environment

  • Proficient in: Javascript, Typescript

  • An expert in unit and automation tests

  • Experience developing fully automated CI/CD pipelines

  • Ability to influence the right test framework decision in accordance with the needs of the project balancing against trade-offs

  • Passionate about Continuous Improvement, Innovation, New technologies

  • Strong knowledge of SOA/Microservices and web architecture and experience around distributed systems

  • Leadership qualities to create a sense of community and direction among QA engineer

The Process⚙️

2. Phone interview: One of our recruiters will get in touch to help you both understand if Recharge is the right next move for you.

3. Technical Phone Screen: You will work through one or two basic programming exercises with one of our Senior Software Engineers for 30 minutes.

4. General Technical Interview: During this 1 hour, you’ll be provided with a problem to solve. We’ll be focussing on assessing your problem solving skills, and also take note of your communication and commercial awareness.

5. Domain Specific Technical Interview: During this 1 hour, you’ll be provided with a problem or exercise specific to your domain.

6. Final Interview: The hiring manager & Director of Engineering,, will have an open discussion (1 hour) about your motivations, ambitions and general experience about working in technology.
